Free-Market Promises, Crony Capitalism, Corporate Welfare, and Small Business Shafts

As an entrepreneur who started out with a bucket of water and a sponge, and built up a small business, which I eventually franchised, I have always wondered how come some large corporations are able to lobby their politicians to create regulations which prevented my company from competing with them. Now don't get me wrong because we were small and agile, and because we were a franchised company with many small franchisees as our team, we were able to compete just fine.
